🎣 FISHING REPORT -

 

The active early September bite is split into two primary zones:

• Shallow Bite (Best early/late): There is excellent low-light topwater action using Whopper Ploppers and buzzbaits around shallow boat docks, pockets, and brush. If the sun is high, dragging a Texas-rigged Senko or big worm into shallow brush (15–20 feet) keeps the bite alive.

• Deep Bite (Best midday): As the sun moves overhead, fish retreat to main lake gravel points and secondary drop-offs. Anglers are having great success drop-shotting or dragging football jigs and Carolina rigs in depths of 22 to 32 feet. 

Tip: Schooling shad are moving into the creek backs and river arms, making those areas prime targets for fast-moving baits.
