From Pumpkins to Christmas Lights: The Ozarks Are Changing Seasons: Branson Christmas attractions 2026
What's closing, what's opening, and when the holiday magic begins around Table Rock Lake.

If you've spent any time around Table Rock Lake lately, you know October has been showing off. Beautiful afternoons, changing leaves, and the kind of weather that makes you seriously question why anyone would put the boat away.
But while we're still enjoying fall, some of our favorite Ozarks attractions are preparing for a rather dramatic wardrobe change.
The pumpkins are packing up. The Christmas lights are coming out. And somewhere in Branson, we're fairly certain someone has already started playing holiday music.
Here's when some of the area's biggest attractions make the switch from autumn adventures to holiday celebrations.
🎃 Silver Dollar City: From Harvest Festival to An Old Time Christmas
Harvest Festival ends October 31. Christmas begins November 7.
Silver Dollar City is perhaps the most spectacular example of the seasonal transformation.
Through October 31, the park celebrates its Harvest Festival with visiting craftsmen, autumn flavors, elaborate pumpkin displays, and Pumpkins in the City.
Then, just one week later, the park welcomes visitors back for An Old Time Christmas, running November 7, 2026, through January 2, 2027.
And this isn't simply a matter of swapping a few pumpkins for wreaths.
The holiday celebration features more than 6.5 million lights, an eight-story animated Christmas tree, the Christmas in Midtown light spectacular, live holiday productions, and a brand-new Stars, Lights & Christmas Nights Parade for 2026.
If you've ever wondered how an entire theme park manages to change seasons practically overnight, you're not alone.
We'd love to see that decorating crew's coffee bill.
✨ Shepherd of the Hills: The Farm Gets Festive
Holiday programming begins November 2. Trail of Lights opens November 6.
Just down the road, Shepherd of the Hills is preparing for its own holiday transformation.
The property's Christmas entertainment begins in early November, including seasonal dinner shows and family productions.
The popular Trail of Lights opens November 6 and runs through January 2, taking visitors through illuminated displays across the historic homestead.
And beginning November 13, North Pole Adventure adds another holiday experience with Christmas lights, family activities, Santa visits, and a hayride.
It's a wonderful example of how the same Ozarks attraction can offer an entirely different experience depending on the season.

🌲 Top of the Rock & Big Cedar: Nature Meets Holiday Lights
Nature at Night begins November 1. Additional holiday experiences follow in November.
At the southern end of Table Rock Lake, the holiday season takes on a different personality.
Top of the Rock's Nature at Night experience is scheduled for November 1 through December 31, transforming the outdoor landscape into an illuminated evening journey.
Nearby, Big Cedar Lodge's holiday light experiences bring Christmas decorations and festive scenery to the resort grounds.
With wooded hillsides, lake views, and the natural beauty of the Ozarks as the backdrop, this is Christmas with a little more wilderness mixed in.
Planning tip: Check availability, ticket requirements, and operating dates before visiting, particularly for special light tours.
🎄 And Branson Is Just Getting Started - : Branson Christmas attractions 2026
The transformation isn't limited to theme parks and resorts.
Across Branson, theaters begin shifting to holiday productions, seasonal decorations appear throughout shopping districts, and Christmas light displays begin welcoming visitors.
A few dates worth circling:
October 31: Branson Festival of Trees begins.
November 1: Lights of Joy Christmas Drive-Thru begins.
November 3: Miracle of Christmas begins at Sight & Sound Theatres.
November 12: The Polar Express Train Ride begins its holiday season.
Some attractions begin celebrating Christmas before the Halloween candy has even been sorted. Branson Christmas attractions 2026 are already in the works.
Around here, November doesn't ease into the holidays. It arrives carrying an extension cord.
🚤 But Don't Forget About the Lake
Here's the wonderful thing about this time of year around Table Rock Lake.
While Branson is preparing for Christmas, the lake is still offering some of its prettiest days of the season.
Fall colors frame the shoreline. The coves grow quieter. Fishing continues. And on those beautiful late-October afternoons, a boat ride can still feel like the best possible way to spend the day.
You don't have to choose between enjoying fall and looking forward to Christmas.
You can do both.
Spend the afternoon exploring the lake, then make plans for an evening of holiday lights. Enjoy the last of the pumpkin festivities before returning for Christmas celebrations.
The Ozarks have a way of making every season worth experiencing.
And if we're being completely truthful, we're still holding out for a few more days warm enough to wear shorts.
